Titled "Trasteros" (Spanish for storage rooms or cabinets), this piece captures a charming, stylized interior filled with traditional Mexican-inspired furniture, including a grand floral "armario" and several ornate "baúles" (chests).

Freeman’s technique is a sophisticated evolution of folk art; she utilizes a rich variety of vintage fabrics—from delicate floral cottons to heavy linens and striped textiles—layered and bound by dense, expert satin-stitch embroidery. Included is a hand embroidered floral. The composition is grounded by a central figure, lending a narrative, human element to the architectural still life.

Dimensions: 24" x 21" (Framed) Condition: Good vintage condition. The textile remains vibrant with some light natural aging to the backing fabric. There is some small amount of soiling in the two lower corners as shown. The lightweight nickel colored frame shows minor wear consistent with age. Original artist label card on the reverse (some silverfish damage to the card). See less
