The Piece
This is a striking original silkscreen poster for the 1968 production of Harold Pinter's "Die Geburtstagsfeier" (The Birthday Party) at the Tübinger Zimmertheater. Designed by the acclaimed Frieder Grindler, the composition features a surreal juxtaposition of a massive, detailed snail shell resting atop a pair of dark shoes with glowing orange highlights. The high-contrast black and white imagery is typical of Grindler's "German School" aesthetic, printed by the legendary Domberger.
