The vase presents a tulip form rising from a pedestal base, demonstrating a confident handling of layered glass techniques associated with Scandinavian production of the period. The body reveals a complex interplay of color and texture. An inner layer of finely mottled cobalt blue and clear glass is encased beneath an outer layer of vivid green crackle glass. The crackled surface allows glimpses of the mottled interior, producing a pronounced sense of depth and visual movement. The pedestal base is executed in a sommerso-type technique, with a blue core encased in clear glass, providing both structural balance and tonal contrast. The vase remains unsigned; however, the quality of execution, color palette, and combination of techniques support the attribution to Gunnar Hakansson and Johansfors Glasbruk. The form and surface treatment align with Swedish Art Deco glassmaking of the 1930s, where experimentation with color layering and texture was central. Condition is very good. The glass retains a vibrant and lustrous surface with no chips or damage. Height: 19.5 cm (7.68 in) Diameter: 9.5 cm (3.74 in) See less
