Tulip (scientific name: Tulipa gesneriana) is a cultivated species of the genus Tulip in the lily family. It is a perennial herb with a flat conical or flat oval bulb. It is called a "magic flower" by Europeans.
The tulip was originally a wildflower on the Asian grasslands. It came to Asia Minor and the Balkans with the Turks. The first person to introduce tulips to the West was Basbek, the ambassador of the Austrian emperor in the 16th century, who brought tulip bulbs back to Flanders on his way home.
This plant watercolor art serves botany, and it is a tradition to show a single species on a blank background. This is a wonderful hand-painted watercolor tulip specimen, which is very precious.
