On offer is an original sketch done in watercolors and acrylic for the book jacket of humorist Max Shulman's 1971 … Read more On offer is an original sketch done in watercolors and acrylic for the book jacket of humorist Max Shulman's 1971 novel, “Potatoes Are Cheaper.” The artwork was created by Eldon Dedini, a prolific cartoonist and illustrator known for his long-standing work with The New Yorker, Esquire, and Playboy. Dedini was a frequent collaborator of Shulman's, also illustrating covers for the author’s other popular titles like “The Feather Merchants.”
Dedini studied at Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and went on to work at Walt Disney Studios in their story department.
