An 18th-century anatomical plate depicting pathological bone formations, shown in five numbered figures. The engravings illustrate enlarged and irregularly textured long bones and joint structures, rendered in detailed surface modeling to emphasize areas of disease or abnormal growth. Drawn by jacques de sève and engraved in fine, precise line, this plate reflects the scientific rigor and refined craftsmanship characteristic of buffon’s histoire naturelle.
