Tome iii, plate iii, page 110 paris: imprimerie royale, 1771 copperplate engraving on laid paper (approx. 24.5 × 19.5 cm). An 18th-century anatomical plate depicting pathological growths of the testes and associated structures, shown in three numbered figures. The engravings present enlarged and irregularly textured forms, including sectional views that reveal internal degeneration and diseased tissue. Fine lettering identifies specific anatomical features. Drawn by jacques de sève and engraved with precise, controlled line work, the plate exemplifies the clarity and scientific rigor characteristic of buffon’s histoire naturelle.
