Buffon, histoire naturelle, 1767–1771 – tom. V, pl. Xxvii (p. 300): le lévrier copper engraving depicting le lévrier (greyhound) standing in elegant profile within a landscaped estate setting. The slender anatomy and refined musculature of the breed are rendered with exceptional precision, characteristic of buffon’s canine studies. Drawn by de sève and engraved by c. Baquoy, with title engraved below the image. A fine 18th-century impression with clear plate mark. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
