A stunning pair of vintage French Art Deco leather armchairs. They are very much in the manner of Jindrich Halabala, they date from around the 1930’s.
The quality is excellent, they are beautifully designed with wonderful curves to the bentwood frames. They are a great size, they are well sprung and are extremely comfortable.
The condition is very good for their age, they have been re-upholstered in a charcoal leather probably not too long ago. We have had the frames re-polished and the leather has been revived by our leather restorer. There is a historical repair to the back of one of the legs, seen in the images. Someone has fitted steel reinforcements on that leg and also all the other legs, to ensure that both chairs are very sturdy and strong.
