A refined Art Deco lidded jar designed by Einar Luterkort and produced by Upsala‑Ekeby between 1932 and 1938. This elegant Swedish stoneware piece features a soft celadon green glaze with a subtle tonal shift, creating depth and a luminous surface that changes gently with the light. The cylindrical body is defined by horizontal, softly undulating bands that give the form a sculptural yet restrained presence typical of Scandinavian Art Deco design. The fitted lid is crowned with a contrasting glossy black loop handle, a striking detail that enhances the rare celadon-and-black color combination. Underneath, the jar is impressed “2283A” and “Ekeby”.
Measuring approximately 14 cm in height and 11,5 cm in diameter. In Sweden during the early 20th century, jars of this type were often used as tobacco containers, though today they function beautifully as decorative storage.
