Brass candelabrum with eight curved arms, trumpet-shaped holders and conical base. Manufacturer / retailer: Illums Bolighus, Denmark. Origin: Denmark. Material: Brass. Dimensions: H. 30 cm, W. 28.5 cm. Period: 1970s. Mark: Stamped underneath “Made in Denmark – Illums Bolighus”. Condition: Patinated condition with signs of use. Illums Bolighus in Copenhagen became renowned in the post-war decades as a showcase for the very best in Danish furniture and applied arts. The store functioned both as a retailer and as a quality stamp for the leading designers and manufacturers of the time, and many of the classic brass candelabra of the 1970s were sold through Illums Bolighus to an international clientele.
