The tables have been professionally restored, including structural stabilization and a carefully applied new finish to ensure durability while preserving the authentic character of the pieces. Their design is defined by softly curved front corners and doors mounted on piano hinges, creating a smooth and harmonious silhouette typical of Central European Art Deco furniture.
Particularly striking is the luxurious walnut veneer, whose rich grain pattern gives the surfaces depth and warmth. The door handles are brass replacements, chosen to complement the original aesthetic.
In keeping with the philosophy of preserving original materials, the veneer has been retained wherever possible. As a result, the tables still display minor signs of age, including a small ring mark on one of the top surfaces. Additionally, the doors show a slight visible gap when closed, likely the result of natural wood movement over decades. The doors close securely and remain functional.
Finished with a fresh varnish, the pair balances careful restoration with honest patina, allowing the history of the pieces to remain visible while ensuring they are ready for many more years of use.
