Large 19th Century Giltwood Wall or Overmantel Mirror. Mirror features a rectangular form with classic beaded inner border, layered molding, deeply carved foliate motifs, and a gilded surface. In the period this mirror was produced, mirrors became essential decorative elements as they were used to amplify light in interiors before widespread electricity.
