The set consists of six … Read more Unusually proportioned rattan and hand-caned dining chairs in an extra large, full set of eight. The set consists of six side chairs and two arm chairs. Original down-filled round seat cushions have been newly re-upholstered in dark mossy green cotton velvet with piping and zippers so that they can be hand-washed or professionally dry-cleaned easily.

Set remains in great original condition with extremely minor cane damage, strong, sturdy rattan frames and minimal unraveling and/or missing decorative reed wrapping at joints.

These whimsical chairs are surprisingly ergonomic and comfortable, work well with many table shapes, including round, oval and rectangular, and feel fresh, even though they are over 60 years old.

The frames were cleaned and oiled with a traditional boiled linseed oil to condition and hydrate them for their next 60 years.

The seat frames measure 18”diameter to the outside of the seat "frames" and the cushions measure approximately 15”Diameter. The cushions set down into circular "nooks" that are designed for the cushions.
