A beautifully decorative antique English ceramic spirit barrel, richly adorned with hand-colored transferware fruit and floral motifs and gilt lettering reading “Scotch Whisky.”
Produced in Staffordshire, England, circa 1880–1910, this piece reflects the charm of late Victorian barware, originally intended as a tabletop spirit dispenser. The underside bears a traditional crown-form backstamp with pattern number, consistent with English export ceramics of the period.
The painterly fruit vignette and delicate floral garlands give the piece a warm, inviting presence—equally suited to a refined home bar, kitchen display, or curated cabinet of antiques.
The brass tap remains in place with a naturally aged patina, adding to its authenticity and visual appeal.
CONDITION PLEASE READ: This dispenser shows signs of age and wear as all great antique items do. Examine all the pictures closely. It has age-related crazing throughout (typical and adds character) and light wear to gilt lettering. The brass tap present with natural patina. The tap connection is also a little loose - making this vessel NOT water tight. Therefore it is for decorative use ONLY.
