An elegant antique English ceramic spirit barrel, featuring hand-colored transferware decoration with fruit and floral motifs and gilt lettering reading “Brandy.”
Crafted in Staffordshire, England, and dating to the late 19th to early 20th century, this piece exemplifies the decorative charm of Victorian-era barware. Originally designed as a tabletop dispenser, it now serves as a refined decorative object.
The underside displays a crown-style backstamp and pattern number, typical of Staffordshire export wares produced for the international market during this period.
The richly colored fruit arrangement and delicate floral detailing lend the piece a timeless aesthetic, making it a striking addition to a bar vignette, kitchen shelf, or antique display.
CONDITION PLEASE READ: This dispenser shows signs of age and wear as all great antique items do. Examine all the pictures closely. It has age-related crazing throughout (typical and adds character) and light wear to gilt lettering. The brass tap does not turn and presents with natural patina. The tap connection is also a little loose - making this vessel NOT water tight. Therefore it is for decorative use ONLY.
