You can keep it in its original form or restore it. It’s charming no matter what. Made of wood slats, old crates, forged iron side handles and a hand made metal lock mechanism and latches. Has metal banding on all four corners and all edges top and bottom.
In very good condition considering it’s 166 years on the planet. There are a couple of hairline cracks, the lid hinges are tight so it doesn’t open all the way. There is a 1” knot hole in the lid. No serious damage. Weighs about 60lbs.
