One glance and you see that form, material, and comfort are in balance. The Wave F773 by Artifort is such a chair. The armchair was designed in 1985 by Peter van der Ham for Artifort, the Dutch brand that has been known for decades for its progressive design and high-quality production. The shape of the chair is strikingly fluid. The seat, back, and armrests appear to have been formed in a single movement, giving the chair its characteristic wave shape. Beneath this soft line stands a ribbed metal base that acts almost as an architectural foundation under the design. The contrast between the organic seat and the graphic base gives the chair a distinctly postmodern character. A design strongly connected to the design culture of the eighties: futuristic yet simultaneously comfortable and inviting. This particular example is finished in the original black leather. In our workshop, the armchair has been carefully cleaned and the leather has undergone reconditioning so that it feels supple again. The chair is therefore ready for a new chapter.
