These … Read more A tall pair of Italian pierce-carved and painted wood columns, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. These antique architectural columns from Italy feature rounded bodies having a hand-carved pierced design with a spiral of leafy vines wrapping the body, and top carved in the typical Roman Corinthian fashion with acanthus leaves. The thickly stacked, square-shaped bases are adorned with a carved flower head at front and backsides - allowing these pieces to be floated within a room. Primary coloring is an off-white with soft gold and brown bases. Both have a wonderfully aged patina throughout. These 18th century Italian pierce-carved columns, standing just over 6 feet in height, will make wonderful architectural accents for your home! See less
