The quality of the figurine rivals that of figurines made in Dresden, Germany. The intricacy of the painting and fine line quality of the painting is amazing.

The molded porcelain figurine of a youthful farmer is embellished with gilt and very fine painting. The detail is incredible from the fruit in the basket to the facial details. The painting is very accurate. There are also attached pieces like fruit, flowers, and a shovel.

The flat foot is not glazed. A blue N with a crown is painted on the base. The following is written in pencil on the foot, “Capo Di Monte” and “F-68 - 19 – 200”. There is also paper label on the base printed with “WARE COLLECTION”, as well as handwritten number “F-68” and “200”. The mark is a traditional and widely adopted mark for Capodimonte produced in Naples, Italy during the mid-20th Century. The piece is not signed by the artist.

MEASUREMENTS
3 ½ in (8.9 cm) wide x 3 ¼ in (8.3 cm) deep x 8 in (20.3 cm) tall. Weighs 1 lb 1.5 oz.

CONDITION
There is a chip to a leaf tip under the basket on the stump. There are no other cracks, breaks, or significant wear. It is remarkable how perfect the condition is.

Boasting the exceptional detail often reserved for Dresden porcelain, this piece remains a remarkably preserved tribute to the artistry and heritage of Italian Capodimonte. See less
