Edoardo Tasca Capodimonte Italian Porcelain Bust | Buddhist / Asian Deity | 24K Gold | Limited Edition | c. 1960s–1970s | ~13" Tall
A magnificent example of Edoardo Tasca's celebrated Capodimonte porcelain work — a richly detailed bust of a Southeast Asian/Buddhist crowned deity, hand-painted and finished with 24k gold plating eBay, from a numbered limited edition. A showpiece of Italian luxury ceramic art.
✦ THE PIECE
This extraordinary bust depicts a Southeast Asian royal or Buddhist deity — likely Tara, a Thai crowned figure, or Khmer royalty — with an elaborate tiered crown featuring white porcelain flame/lotus finials, silver-toned rope twist accents, and dramatic flanking peacock-feather elements. The face and torso are finished in deep 24k gold. Jewel accents throughout in ruby red and cobalt blue enamel. A flowing blue sash drapes across the shoulder and torso. The chest features a multi-petaled cross ornament with central gold boss. Pendant earrings with ruby cabochons. Multiple beaded necklaces.
✦ MAKER & MARK
Marked on reverse of crown: "EDOARDO TASCA / [palm mark] N / ITALY" — the authentic Capodimonte factory mark. Edoardo Tasca pieces are highly sought after by collectors of fine Italian decorative arts.
✦ DIMENSIONS
Approximately 13" tall.
