A finely crafted articulated lizard sculpture designed by celebrated Taxco silversmith Emilia Castillo, one of the most recognized figures in modern Mexican decorative arts.
Executed in silver plate over metal, the sculpture features Castillo’s signature attention to texture and movement. The body is constructed from multiple articulated segments, allowing the lizard to curve naturally, enhancing the lifelike and sculptural quality of the piece. Each segment displays a beautifully worked hexagonal scale pattern, while the raised dorsal spikes and expressive eyes give the sculpture a playful yet sophisticated character.
Emilia Castillo, daughter of renowned master silversmith Antonio Castillo, continues the important Taxco silver tradition established by Los Castillo. Her work blends traditional Mexican craftsmanship with modern sculptural forms, making her pieces highly sought after by collectors, interior designers, and enthusiasts of Mexican modern design.
