A pair of decorative bookends in the form of carved elephants. Made of solid wood with a dark, warm color. Details – tusks, eyes, and claws – are made of light decorative material, which emphasizes the sculptural form.
The supports are solid and heavy, which makes them very good at stabilizing books on a shelf. Thanks to their impressive form, they can also serve as decorations in a bookcase, study, or living room.
The elephant motif was popular in interior design in the second half of the 20th century and often appeared in hand-carved items imported from Asia.
Condition:
