An elegant Sylvan Ware twin-handled vase produced by Poole Pottery in England during the early 1930s.
The vase features a classical amphora form with gently curved handles and a beautifully balanced silhouette. It is finished in Poole’s distinctive turquoise glaze, displaying subtle tonal variation that enhances the sculptural simplicity of the piece.
Produced during Poole Pottery’s early art pottery period, Sylvan Ware pieces reflect the transition between Arts & Crafts design and emerging Art Deco aesthetics, combining traditional craftsmanship with a restrained modern form.
The base carries the impressed Poole England mark together with the Sylvan Ware designation and shape number M42.
