The figure displays refined features with gently closed almond-shaped eyes, elongated earlobes and a peaceful smile, reflecting the spiritual calm characteristic of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture. The Buddha is shown in the Bhumisparsha mudra (earth-touching gesture), with the right hand extended toward the ground, symbolising the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called the earth to witness his triumph over temptation.
