swedish 19th century blue painted shaped strong box circa 1860.
an example of the traditional swedish shaped strong box with domed lid. this example has been painted in a vivid blue paint with the metalwork painted silver, lid opens to reveal an unpainted interior which is much easier on the eye.
lock no longer present so a good decoration piece.
losses to metalwork around the base which have been over painted in silver onto the woodwork to give the illusion that they are still there. expected surface marks and fading.
