Made of pine wood, it is a considerable size, 44 cm tall, and today it is a very interesting decorative object, or, if you lived through our industrial past, a memento of that era.

A wooden foundry pattern is a physical replica, usually made of wood (such as white pine or mahogany), of the final piece to be obtained through metal casting. It serves to create the negative cavity in the molding sand, where the molten metal will later be poured. This pattern must be slightly larger than the final piece to compensate for the metal's shrinkage as it cools and to allow for subsequent machining. The colors on wooden patterns are a standard code used in foundries to indicate to operators how the final piece should be machined, where the cores (cores) are placed, and which surfaces do not require finishing.

Red (or Orange): Indicates surfaces that will not be machined and will be left as they come from the casting (raw surfaces).
Yellow: Indicates surfaces that do require machining or further finishing (where the part will be cut or polished).
Black: Marks core prints, that is, the locations where cores (males) will be set to create internal cavities in the part.
Yellow Stripes on Black: Identifies core prints for openings that will be machined.
Green: Typically used to mark the surfaces of loose parts or detachable parts of the model.
