Meet Alexander Dolgikh — where classical mastery meets timeless storytelling.
Trained at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Kiev and rooted in a family legacy of fine art, Dolgikh brings rare academic discipline to every canvas. His command of the human figure is exceptional — built through years of rigorous study and refined further during his time designing sets for the Crimean Academic Russian Drama Theater, where he developed an instinct for drama, light, and composition that few artists can match.
The result? Paintings that don't just hang on a wall — they pull you in. Whether you're drawn to the technical precision of his brushwork or the rich, layered storytelling behind each piece, a Dolgikh original is an investment in true fine art craftsmanship.
30th of Februray is a canvas alive with movement — Alexander Dolgikh's figurative mastery on full display. Across a warm, luminous golden ground, dozens of figures dance, drift, and gesture in endless variation. Each one is rendered with the loose confidence of a master draughtsman — expressive, gestural strokes that somehow capture an entire human presence in just a few marks. No two figures are alike, yet together they form a mesmerizing rhythm, like pages from an ancient manuscript brought to life.
This large-scale work is a rare showcase of Dolgikh's academic training and his deep fascination with the human form.
A bold statement piece for any serious collector.
We purchased this gorgeous painting from a gallery in Prague in 2000 when he was just starting his career. His signature is shown in photo 6, along with the galleries short synopsis in photo 7 about him that we were given. We paid about $6000 in total with purchase, shipping and framing. His work has become more well known and collectible since that time. I have receipts for airlines and other memorabilia, which I am adding. It was 25 years ago and we were on our honeymoon for 6 weeks all over Europe. Please look for his work to compare valuation.
