Up for sale is a stunning, near-mint 1930s Sheaffer Balance mechanical pencil in the iconic "Jade Green" over sized Senior model (5.5") Radite (celluloid).
This is a true collectors specimen. While most jade pieces from this era have turned a muddy brown over the last 90 years, this pencil was stored in a case and has retained its vibrant, original seafoam green color with virtually no ambering.
Condition Highlights:
Material: High-gloss celluloid in pristine "True Green" condition.
Trim: Gold-filled "Humpback" clip and center band show no "brassing" or wear.
Imprint: Features a sharp gold-foil personalization: "J.P. BRENNAN."
Provenance: Sourced from an estate in Moraga, CA. Historical records indicate J.P. Brennan was a prominent contractor who built the landmark dam at Saint Marys College in 1928. This pencil likely dates to the completion of that project.

This is a rare "fresh-to-market" find that has been carefully preserved as a family heirloom rather than cycled through multiple dealers.Condition Report Body & Color: Vibrant Jade Green Radite (celluloid) with excellent color preservation. Unlike many 1920s models, this specimen shows minimal "browning" or darkening, retaining its iconic bright marbled hue.
