Executed in Italy circa 1890, the figure reflects the romantic naturalism and refined sentiment associated with late 19th century Florentine carving, in the manner of Emilio Fiaschi.
The finely carved details highlight her softly curled hair, gentle expression, delicately incised lace collar, and the crisp woven texture of the bonnet.
