The rectangular table features a clear inset glass top set within a slender parcel-gilt frame, allowing the architectural metal base to remain fully visible.
The base rises on four columnar legs combining gilt capitals and tapered feet with steel-toned shafts, creating a sophisticated two-tone contrast. Gracefully curved oval stretchers connect the legs and are joined by a central crossbar, adding both structural stability and visual rhythm to the composition. The restrained ornamentation and balanced proportions recall Louis XVI and Directoire design interpreted through mid-century materials.
The table is in excellent vintage condition commensurate with age and use, with light wear consistent with careful preservation.
Maison Jansen, founded in Paris in 1880 by Jean-Henri Jansen, became one of the first truly international interior design houses, serving aristocratic and diplomatic clients across Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East.
