This Chinese porcelain vase has a classic bottleneck shape, decorated with a monochrome glaze and an allover sgraffito design of peony blossoms, trailing vines and palm leaves. The vase reinterprets a traditional gooseneck form known as a "celestial ball vase," shaped with clean lines and an understated sculptural presence. The vase is cloaked inside and out in a rich, golden-yellow glaze reminiscent of marigolds or buddha's hand citron. The golden glaze pools into the etched linework beneath, deepening the color for a natural shadow effect.
