Beautiful art glass centerpiece vase made by Stuart Abelman of Los Angeles, CA. This vase has some size and weight to it. It stands 6 3/8" tall and is 9" in diameter at its mid section. The bottom has a diameter of 3 1/4". The raised neck has a 3 1/2” outer and 1 1/2” inner diameter.
This vase has a raised flared rim. It weighs approximately 6.5 lbs and has a beautiful pulled pink and white feather pattern. The vase also has green, blue and white details throughout.
The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips, or dings. The piece is signed on the underside outer bottom edge that reads, “Abelman V-1252-235 1986”. This means the vase was made circa 1986. It is my belief that this is shape number 1252 and the 235th one produced that year but not sure. I know this was very popular in the day so to say.
Abelman opened his own glass blowing studio in 1976. This vase is dated 1986. This is considered the early years for Stuart with his studio still producing art glass today.
