This diminutive cut crystal vase by Strömbergshyttan of Sweden is fitted with a pair of sterling silver handles in the form of grape clusters with looped vine stems, a combination that speaks to the refined Art Deco sensibility the Swedish glasshouses carried well into the postwar period. The heavy-walled crystal body has a subtle blue-grey cast typical of Strömbergshyttan's production, and the faceted panels give it a clean architectural quality that contrasts nicely with the organic silver handles. Marked 925S on the grape cluster as shown.
