This might be an original combination of lamp and shade or perhaps something that a clever person put together. The reason I think it's original is because the white glass base has a place where the cord comes out from the bottom of the lamp, and that place was molded into the shape of the base. Which says that the base was originally intended as a. lamp base.
One way or the other, it's "adorable!" The shade is one of those real classic Art Deco designs, a "festival of geometry," and in perfect condition (as is the base).
The wiring is old but in perfect working order and there is a period plug at the end of it, and. there's a vintage in-line on-off switch on the cord.
In my opinion you can safely use up to a 75 watt bulb, either incandescent or fluorescent, which will give you lots of light.
Perfect for any place in the house where you need light and want to solicit oohhhs and aahhhs
from your friends!
