A continuation of a series of color-field paintings from the early 2000’s. A saturation of yellow optimism enveloping thoughts and beings. Not unlike a burst of warm, fresh air, and birdsong, and signs of spring after a harsh winter.
This is a diptych, on two canvases, each measuring 40” high by 30” wide for a total of 40” high by 60” wide. It is not framed. The top and side edges are painted in yellow that matches the front. The bottom edge is left as is (as seen in a detail photo), showing drip marks from creating the painting. As an artist, I like to see hints of how a piece is created. It’s wired and ready to hang.
This is a heartfelt conversation between color and feeling.
