These double-hoop earrings are constructed in sterling silver with 18k yellow gold cross-bar detailing — the signature "axis" motif that gives the collection its name. The interplay of the two metals creates a graphic, structural look that is distinctly Gehry. At 16mm in diameter and 8mm wide, they have a substantial presence without being overstated. Hinged click closure. Recently polished to showroom condition with no scratches or dents.
Frank Gehry's collaboration with Tiffany & Co., brought the legendary architect's deconstructivist sensibility to fine jewelry. The Axis collection is among the most recognizable of the series, drawing directly on the intersecting planes and geometric tension that define Gehry's architectural work.
