Elegant and full of character, this pair of bookends features two majestic gilded brass elephants with their calves, set amidst stylized, deep green foliage. The symmetrical composition creates a harmonious visual dialogue between the two pieces, each elephant seemingly responding to the other with presence.
The contrast between the elephants' gleaming gold finish and the green, verdant base adds a striking decorative dimension, typical of Art Deco aesthetics. The pieces rest on dark veined marble bases that enhance their presence and stability.
This highly expressive decorative composition is perfect for highlighting a bookcase, desk, or shelf.
They are in excellent condition. The polished cast brass has a patina.
