The continuous lines of the curved back frames, armrests, and cabriole legs create a stylish, cohesive seating group with calm proportions and a clear reference to Rococo design language. Historical Context: Salon seating groups consisting of a sofa and several armchairs were typical furnishings in prestigious living rooms during the 18th and 19th centuries. They allowed for a symmetrical arrangement of seating along walls or around central tables and were designed for social use in the salon. The Louis XV style developed a characteristic design language in the 18th century with curved lines, softly modeled frames, and curved legs. In the 19th century, this style was revived as part of the Historicism movement and continued in various forms in furniture workshops across Europe. Such ensembles were often manufactured as matching sets, in which the sofa and armchairs were formally coordinated. Material and condition: Oak wood frame, upholstered and covered with a velvet-like fabric. Very good condition with few signs of age-related wear; upholstery and stability are very good.
