Visually and texturally, this piece seems to … Read more Italian ceramic decorative bottle with lid and handle by Bruno Gambone (circa 1980s). Visually and texturally, this piece seems to have its origins in antiquity. It is a sculptural work consisting of a body reminiscent in shape of an elegant pillow cushion, then capped by a wide mouth with the origin of its handle near the lip returning to the body. There is a removable bottle top with an attached cork in a nod to its utilitarian origins (olive oil holder possibly). One half of the bottle is graced with an earthy, clay coloured decoration originating at midway but, like a vine, crawls up the neck and lid, leaving the handle untouched. Exceptionally desirable and very collectible, this charming work would be a stylish addition to your home or workspace. In good overall condition. Signed: 'Gambone - Italy' at the base.
