The figure depicts Dewi Sri, the Hindu goddess of rice, fertility, and prosperity.

Design & Craftsmanship:

The sculpture captivates with its elegant, flowing silhouette in the classic Tribhanga pose (triple-bent posture), which lends the figure exceptional dynamism and grace. Particularly noteworthy are the intricately crafted details of the traditional headdress and the fine patterns of the robe, which underscore the mastery of the unknown carver.

Material & Quality:

Made from a heavy, dark solid wood (likely ebony or high-quality teak), the piece is characterized by a dense grain and a rich, dark patina. Weighing 2.18 kg, the figure is solid and stable.

Condition:
The sculpture is in very good vintage condition. The visible part of the carving is flawless. Only on the underside of the base are there age-related drying cracks in the end grain, which do not affect the stability and underscore the authenticity of the natural material and the age of the object.
