Up for sale is a wonderful antique 19th century handmade 2 gallon stoneware pottery jug made by J. Monsky 247 Market Street Newark NJ.
It's made by hand out of thick pottery walls with a salt glaze finish and embellished with beautiful hand applied cobalt detailing.
The jug features an applied handle and a gorgeous silhouette.
It is in good condition and measures 14 1/2" tall x 8 1/2".
There are 2 small chips on the rim and glaze crackling on the bottom back that doesn't hurt the integrity of the piece.
