The bench features two molded foam seats upholstered in their original red fabric, forming a gently sloping, enveloping line. The frame rests on a tubular base of black lacquered metal, punctuated by chrome spheres at the ends of the armrests—a signature detail of this series. The contrast between the organic fluidity of the volumes and the graphic rigor of the metal perfectly captures the French modernist aesthetic of the early 1970s.
