franco poli is a designer from padua born in 1950. From 1969, he studied art and architecture in venice, where he met isamu noguchi and buckminster fuller. In 1974, he designed his first industrial design product. In 1977, he collaborated with bernini s.p.a., where he became artistic director from 1979 to 2009. In 1986, he created the poltrona frau aeronautical and naval division with lenci and talocci, designing the forum and i madrigali collections. In the 1980s, he opened a studio in venice and was appointed visiting professor at the u.i.a in florence and the politecnico di milano. From 1989 to 1996, he taught a course in design at the academy of fine arts in venice. In the 1990s, he participated in the founding of numerous regional associations, a transnational school of design in reggio calabria, and the national coordination of the c.n.a.d.
