The Library of Great Painters, Portfolio Edition, with b&w illustrations and nine (9) tipped-in full color full-page plates featuring the works of artist Paul Gauguin. Informative text of the artist's life and works by John Rewald. The actual color plates remain quite suitable for individual framing as all are in nearly as new condition, with authoritative text and commentary. 24 pages. Gauguin, 1848-1903, was a French painter with a highly original and distinctive style. Poor and in ill health, in 1891 he separated from his family and went to Tahiti, spending the rest of his life in the South Pacific.
