A 1970s Belgian coffee table Attributed to Willy Daro, defined by its sculptural brass base shaped like a bonsai tree. An ellipse shaped glass top rests above the intricate base.
Willy Daro, born in Belgium in 1918, was known for his botanical and floral sculptural forms, as well as his integration of Brutalist style with luxurious natural materials such as fossils and minerals. He founded his factory, Les Nouveaux Ateliers Willy Daro, in Brussels in the early 1960s, where he created sophisticated furniture and decor until 1987.
Condition: Great vintage condition, with a beautiful patina to the brass base and minor surface scratches and scuffs. The glass top is 1/8" thick with no notable signs of wear.
