A rare and exceptional console table designed by Paul László in the 1950s. Crafted from richly grained walnut, the sculptural base showcases László’s signature blend of organic forms and precise craftsmanship. The undulating wooden frame features curvaceous legs and sinuous crossbars. Topped with its original, organically shaped glass, the design mirrors the contours of the base, creating a seamless visual flow.
Published and numbered, this piece bears its serial number stamped directly on the wooden frame — a mark of authenticity that underscores its significance as a collectible work by one of the era’s most influential designers.
Paul László (1900–1993) was a Hungarian-born architect and interior designer known for blending modernism with luxury. After studying at the Vienna Academy of Arts, he built a successful career in Europe before immigrating to Beverly Hills in the late 1930s, where he became a favored designer for Hollywood elites.
László’s work combined clean lines, sculptural forms, and rich materials, merging architecture with furniture design to create cohesive interiors. He collaborated with Pace Collection and designed for Saks Fifth Avenue, with clients including Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, and Barbara Stanwyck, earning a reputation for his bold yet inviting aesthetic.
