An Italian Murano glass sconce by the esteemed Barovier & Toso atelier, model “Empire.” Hand-blown in milky glass with soft gilt flecks suspended throughout. The flared silhouette is banded with rings and adorned with applied florets in subtle relief—each one catching the light with a quiet shimmer. Designed in the mid 1980's by the Atelier.
The Barovier dynasty traces its roots to 1295, when Jacobello Barovier, a master glassblower, began transforming molten sand and minerals into incandescent works of art. For centuries, the family maintained its legacy, crafting exquisite glass pieces until the mid-20th century, when it merged with another renowned glassworks to become Barovier & Toso. This evolution reflects a commitment to artistry and tradition that endures to this day.

Condition: Great vintage condition. This sconces has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists with a new socket and brass backplate. Accepts one standard base light bulb.
