A rare Art Deco green Murano glass pendant attributed to the esteemed Barovier & Toso atelier in the 1950s. The flared glass shade is formed in a tulip-like silhouette, hand-blown in transparent green with swirling ribbons of gold leaf.
Above, a column of ribbed and rounded glass elements supports the form, with polished brass accents complementing the composition. When illuminated, the gilded ribbons shimmer through the green glass, casting a soft, radiant glow.
The Barovier dynasty traces its roots to 1295, when Jacobello Barovier, a master glassblower, began transforming molten sand and minerals into incandescent works of art. For centuries, the family maintained its legacy, crafting exquisite glass pieces until the mid-20th century, when it merged with another renowned glassworks to become Barovier & Toso. This evolution reflects a commitment to artistry and tradition that endures to this day.
Condition: Great vintage condition, with a patinated finish to the brass. This pendant has been professionally rewired by our team of restorationists and includes a newly fabricated brass canopy. Accepts one E26 base light bulb.
