This vintage Hopi polychrome cylinder pot likely dates from the early to mid -20th century. These cylindrical vessels became popular among Hopi-Tewa potters as decorative items for the tourist trade, often inspired by Arts and Crafts era aesthetics. The pot is hand painted and initialed on the base with SD. It is in remarkable condition considering its age and shows typical scratch as shown in the photos. I see a sort of crack at the top but it does not show on the other side, so it is most likely a surface condition, nothing serious.
